Shirtless Dick Grayson

Time for some Nightwing (well, actually he's still Robin in these scans) beefcake. In New Teen Titans Vol. 1 #28, Dick Grayson is just hanging around in Starfire's apartment shirtless while Kory is dressed only in a robe. Gee, I wonder what they just finished doing. What could two healthy, attractive, semi-clothed teenagers do to pass the time, all alone in that apartment? Heh. Such a subtle way to show that Dick & Kory have a sexual relationship back in the day. Eventually, they did show the couple in bed in New Teen Titan Vol. 2 #1, which apparently caused controversy (at least according to Wikipedia).

Edited on 6/14/2021 to replace old images with better quality scans.

Yeah, I heard all about the "controversy" too, people for some reason got upset about a young unmarried couple having sex, LOL, those folks must be really beside themselves these days with all the actual non-fiction crazy sex everyone has going on! Never mind when Dick & Starfire were together it was the 80's not the 50's, and they missed the real kicker that Starfire was not even human but an alien too, supposedly descended from cats! I love Perez & Wolfman, they broke all kinds of relationship taboos with this, HA! :)

Damn! Talk about being conservative...
Well, it was back in the 80's, when folks thought comics were just for kids. Silly people!

Funny thing is that even today people think comics are for children.

I'm too distracted by Robin's poochie nipples to even START to think politically about this...

DAMN!
Hey, steverm! Nice to hear from you again. The great George Perez draws awesome nipples doesn't he?

Perez always draws such a pretty and yet masculine Mr Grayson...

Happy-sigh!
He sure does. And lets not forget, this is the man who designed Dick's disco outfit!

As if I would ever forget his fabulous Disco!Wing outfit! Siiiiiigh! :)

Interesting to note too that Dick appears to be holding a martini glass. Now Dick is not a drinker, the occasional beer (and on rare celebratory occasions, a glass of champagne) so this is unusual, and such a distinctive style of glass (and the drink implied) is unexpected.
