John Carter Trailer

It's Tim Riggins on Mars! It's Gambit on the Red Planet. No, but it is Taylor Kitsch, and he's playing yet another hot character. He will star in Disney's John Carter, the big screen adaptation of the Princess of Mars, the first book in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom Saga. Here are some screencaps from the trailer. Sure the costume could be skimpier, but at least they didn't give him pants.

I remember looking at pics of him before Origins and not really liking him that much. His cheeks looked too chubby, which would be nice for a kid, but not for Gambit.

But he looks so different in the movie. I liked him there. He looks nice here, too.

I like his look here too. These types of roles usually go to big beefy guys. Its nice to see a lean dude in this type of costume for a change.

My choice for Gambit was leaner.

I thought Ian Somerhalder's face made him a perfect candidate, and he is slim and athletic, too.

Taylor was a decent choice, but I stick with Ian.

The outfit in the first pics do remind you why, when a planned Conan toyline fell through in the 1980's that it didn't take much of a paint job to turn him into a little franchise you might have heard of called "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe".

Really liking this! Next best thing to him actually being naked like the books. Dejah should have pink or rosey colored skin though, not tribal body painted or tattooed up. Other than that, looking very optimistic.

@Cesar, Ian would have been an amazing Gambit, but given that the role was really just an extended cameo in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I think he might have been too big for the part. But had they given Gambit a spin off, Ian would be perfect!

@icon-uk, oh my, the costume does look a bit He-Man-like doesn't it? I hope he looses that harness thingy early in the movie.

@DAN, not liking Dejah's look at all. What's up with those tattoos? There are gonna be a lot of pissed straight fanboys. Meanwhile, I'm digging John's look. So nice that they didn't make him shave his nipple hair. XD

Seems like I have a reason to watch the movie.

@Pandesal - Yeah, so pleasantly surprised that they let Taylor grow his chest fuzz out a little! I hate the trend in modern movies where guys are always waxed or shaved.

@Arion, yeah, the eye candy is reason enough to go watch this film, but it's also got a pretty good story. I'm definately gonna watch it too. Probably in 3D.

@DAN, Yeah, its nice to see guys go natural instead of being shaved or waxed like a certain character in a recently released summer blockbuster which I won't mention *cough*Captain America*cough*. Aw, who am I kidding, I actually like hairless Chris Evans. Now, Daniel Radcliffe on the other hand, I would have also liked to see smooth in Deathly Hallows. Harry's too young to be that hairy.

@Pandesal - Well, Cap's always been smooth in the comics I read, so at least it fits the character in that case, and Chris looks good smooth too (although being as hairy as he naturally is, it will be difficult to keep that look up over time, but I'd gladly volunteer to be his on set body groomer though just to get an up close look at him, XD).

And Daniel Radcliffe did surprise me too, my little cousins I took to the Potter movie were like "I guess that's why he's named Harry 'casue he REEEEALLY is." LOL, I love those kids. :)

Hairy Potter! lol I've seen Deathly Hallows Part 2. Loved it!

Might as well call the movie JOHN CARTER NIPPLES OF MARS because those things, succulent, dark, hairy for the first time, and ripe, are going to upstage any action going on around them...
