New Mutants on the Beach

icon-uk shares with us this cans from New Mutants Annual # 3 , in which our young students are on the beach.

According to icon-uk:
Sam, Bobby and Doug a la Alan Davis courtesy of New Mutants Annual #3, and Doug having his famous "Gosh these are tight trunks" moment.
Heh, Doug should just keep walking behind Roberto so that no one would notice his boner. LOL

Love Alan Davis, squee! Get this man as much work as possible while he's still alive and in good health! So excited that Alan's next ClanDestine project is supposedly expected to see print by year's end according to his official forum. It's supposed to be 3 team-up type annuals that also feature Daredevil, Wolverine, & The Fantastic Four (pre-Johnny "death").
That's good news about ClanDestine! I loved that book too, lots of shirtlessness there as well. Alan is so generous with the beefcake (and the cheesecake of course).

I don't mind noticing young Dougie's boners.
The thing is, the artist didn't actually draw a boner, it was just implied in a though balloon. It would have been better if they didn't show his speedo so we can imagine that he really was sporting wood or he could have actually drawn it. But I guess the Comics Code Authority would have had a field day or something.

I don't think he's actually got a boner (and for sure the CCA would have nixed such a thing on a 15/16 year old).

It would be a distinct possibility, but I just don't think Doug is use to wearing something that small and tight in public (His New Mutants uniform is closer to a skisuit).

It is adorable in any event! :)
Oh icon, you're so naive. Joke! XD

Damn the CCA, damn them to hell!

Still, boner or no boner this is such a nice panel.

@pandesal - Nah, you're probably right, but I like to think my naivete balances out my cynicism! :)

Something doesn't add up here. The New Mutants go to the beach in this issue and there's only ONE panel of them shirtless? Where is the rest?
Well, there are more panels but this is the only one that icon-uk sent me. I'll see if I can scan the rest.

Also, a couple of panels from this issue was poster a while back. Click here so see Warlock & Impossible Man flex their muscles for some appreciative ladies.

I had thought this only meant he is not used to such tiny swimsuits when I read it and for a few years afterwards.

I had problems with him wearing a speedo very comfortably on the Asgard special, though. Not a problem seeing him wear the speedo, but with his portrayal of him not being a speedo guy.

But then, perhaps last year, I realized this could actually mean his swimsuit was too tight because he was suddenly too big... Of course everything is too sexual in that beach and he gets somewhat excited being there.

And getting Doug to show a little more than usual is fine as long as no one remembers his age. Same for Rictor.
How old was Doug when he was in the New Mutants? I'm guessing 16.

Doug's age was never mentioned, he was younger than Cannonball (The oldest male NM), and older than Sunspot (the youngest male NM) abd was a contemporary of Kitty Pryde, so was probably at that vague "15 going on 16" stage, as so many teenage heroes tend to be.

Yup. Late-14, early-16 is my guess.

Kitty seemed to age pretty fast back then, though, but she was 14-15 when Doug came into the scene, I believe.

Rictor I think was introduced as 12 or 13. He looked pretty young during X-Factor, although he seemed to age somewhat during New Mutants and grow up a lot in X-Force. Still, he should be younger than Rahne. Even if that is no longer the case, I think he would be younger than 18 when he met Shatterstar. He still managed to get into bars and all, though.

Expect a Colossus and Doug pic later today or tomorrow. I think you will like it.

Ooh, interesting pairing... looking forward to that! :)

Oh my my... aren't THEY pretty! :D
Icecypher said…
They don't think they are...

Then they should just turn around and stare into each others eyes (provided Doug doesn't get a crick in his neck from having to stare upwards at that angle) and each see what Kitty saw in the other... :)

If he does, Doug can always stare down, LOL.

No matter how yummy Piotr is, I'd still prefer Doug. I'd still rather he got an intact foreskin, but still, as a whole package Doug is more attractive than Piotr for me. Face, hair, slim body, interests, all of that beat big muscles and big everything, really.

And, it would not take me too much time to place them in front of each other. Colossus would still be looking up, though. Editing his face to look at Doug's, while not the most difficult job, would require more time than I have now.

Aw yeah, Doug would be a lot easier to cuddle, and I'm all about the hugs! (I doubt I could get my arms halfway around Piotr)

I confess I'd never thought whether Doug was circumcised or not (still getting used to him being legal age) but then I've never quite seen the American obsession with it, it's certainly not as common in the UK.

I sadly assume a lot of the US heroes to be cut.

Making exceptions for clones, orphans who never met their parents, aliens (who are not really US heroes, after all).

So, Gambit, X-Man, Mar-Vell, they are all intact.

I have to save as many heroes as I can, so Mexican Rictor is uncut for me, too, even though in some places in Mexico (cities) the ratio could be around 50/50 (made up statistics, but I think they could be close). It would be lower for people from the country.

American Indians would be a lot less likely to be cut than whites, so that saves the Proudstar brothers, Forge, and Wyatt Wingfoot.
