Shirtless Peter Parker & Flash Thompson

How awesome is this?! It's a Spider-Man & Flash Thompson pinup! The webslinger and his biggest fan, bare-chested together in one hot commission! Special thanks to Brendan for sharing this with us. Art by the very talented Al Rio.

Edit: Here's another great commsision. A shirtless, teenaged Peter Parker! Flex those muscles, webhead!

what great drawings of flash and pete , i love the spidey
flexing one too . Funny the glasses , as andrew garfield was pictured in character as peter with glasses on .

I remember a scene in the comics , where peter and flash were fighting in the school gym shirtless , drawn by steve ditko . I loved seeing flash shirtless .

the flexing spidey makes me think of logan lerman , i think he would have made a great spidey .
Yeah, I love Flash Thompson. Its a shame I don't have more posts featuring him. I'm gonna look for that shirtless fight you mentioned. To wikipedia! lol

I also thought Lerman would make a good Peter Parker! But after seeing some of his movies, I think Garfield will be good as the webslinger.

I liked Peter better in glasses too, although I never cared for Flash Thompson, how dare he bully my Adorkable Spider-Cutie! Although they ARE looking quite close in this piece, hmmm slash fiction anyone? I like that second one too, lots of nice fine line detail.

Great pics. Awesome expression in Peter's face.

Logan is a great actor and is so totally cute, but he is not so muscular as this Spidey (although Peter is kind of slim, he's got more muscles than Logan). I'd rather Logan not work out, I like him better the way he is.
@DAN, Flash bullied Peter in high school but after a while they became good friends. I like how their relationship has evolved from bitter rivals to best friends. Flash is also the biggest Spide-Man fanboy in-story and is embarrassingly dedicated to his idol (though he didn't know he was "Puny Parker" at the time)

@César, Your right, Logan is too thin for the role, but then again, before the first Spider-Man film came out, I though Tobey was too doughy to play Peter Parker. But he was able to get into shape for the movie. It was just a shame that he didn't look anything like Peter when it came to his face. lol I never really accepted Tobey as Spider-Man.

That was the risk if Logan was chosen, he'd have to bulk up and that would ruin his look. He's perfect right now.
Yeah, he's currently twink-tastic!

The slimmer Peter is my preferred look too, although why they picked some British guy to play a New Yorker is puzzling, but he's cute and appropriately adorkable.

I guess the same reason they picked a relatively hairless boy to play Hank McCoy in First Class: they look great! And also, they can act. I love Nicholas Hoult's performances.

A hairless Hank McCoy!?! NNNOOOOO!
Icecypher said…
Don't worry. I suppose that's just before his mutation. He'll be hairy enough and blue enough for the movie.

I liked the hairy hunk Hank, not the blue furry Beast Hank, this is no good, boo! Hank is not supposed to look like a twink... :(

I suppose they wanted to emphasize the blue thing as being his mutation and that it drastically changed him from a beautiful nerd to beastly one, unlike the comics Beast, the one we all know and love and who looked like a big-handed and big-footed primate from the start of the series.

Of course, now we have to assume his appearance in X2 was created by an image inducer of some sort. Unless he can change back to "human" at will.

I love how this First Class movie is supposed to maintain continuity with the previous X-Movies, but appears NOT to, and is more of a reboot after all! LOL

Nicholas Hoult is one of my favorite young British actors. Now I'm interested in X-Men First Class.
Loved Nicholas Hoult on "Skins". Who knew that that weird kid from "About a Boy" would grow up to be such a hottie?!

Nicholas Hoult is cute, but he just doesn't look the way Hank is supposed too, but since when have Fox's X-Movies even gotten close to proper continuity, HA! ;)
ITA, it seems that they don't really care about the source material and just casts whoever they like. I think they should've cast a beefier actor (like Kelan Lutz) to play Hank McCoy. But since I like Hoult I not gonnna complain about this particular casting choice, Halle Berry as Storm on the other hand.... lol

I know, it's hard to not be angry about casting such a strong feminist and racial icon like Storm with such a relatively weak actress, like I said before it should have been Angela Bassett, back when the X-Movies started she was still young enough to have played her and Angela just exudes strength and charisma unlike Halle.

I would have liked Henry Cavill to have played the pre-blue Hank, he's in great shape and usually sports some chest hair too; Cavill will definitely be the sexiest Superman EVER whether the actual movie sucks or not. :)

About a Boy was a movie I really enjoyed, and I remember Hoult's part was particularly interesting to me. And then he appeared in Skins and The Weather Man, and for some reason his character had some sort of flirtatious relationship with gay males (I wonder if the same happens in A Single Man). If we could only see him skinny dipping with some of the other X-Boys in First Class...
Anyway, feel welcome to leave a comment on my blog.
@DAN, I'm very worried about the Superman Reboot Movie. The casting was spot on but the director...? I'm not a fan, especially after Sucker Punch came out.

@Arion, omg, you're totally right about Hoult always being cast in gay friendly roles! In "A Single Man" he has a thing for his gay professor. So that makes three roles in which he's played a gay guy or the object of desire for a gay guy. The only explanation for this is that Nicholas loves us all and wants us to be happy, that's why he keeps accepting these roles! XD
Arion said…
Oh yes! That's why Hoult is the best!

Although I agree Halle does not look like I think Storm should (and is too short just as Jackman is too tall for Logan), I believe she could have done a better job if her character had been given a decent chance.

Her "best" line in the first movie is that bad joke with Toad...

In the third movie we see a Storm that better resembles the commanding presence of our beloved Ororo from the comics. All they had to do was kill Scott so she could get the focus she deserved (and would be better received if it was shared as co-leader and goddess).
