Peter Parker: (Pool) Party Animal

Amazing Spider-Man #249 starts with Peter desperately trying to get his shirt off (sound like a good start to the story doesn't it)... so that a guest at the party he's attending won't deduce that he is in fact our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Girl likes what she sees...

Peter then spent the most of the issue in a half shirt & cut offs. Don't you just love the 80's?

John Romita Jr. (who drew these panels) had a great run on Amazing Spidey with writer Roger Stern, who also liked to write beefcake (and cheesecake) situations into the book alot. Their run ( from Amazing 224-252 I think) really needs to be omnibused fast! :)
Yeah, love the way John Romita Jr. drew Peter, especially back then. I think he made Peter too skinny in his most recent run.

And I'd also love an omnibus of the Stern/Romita run.

Yeah Romita Jr. was on such a roll in the 80's, I really loved his early Iron Man work with Michelinie and Layton (got the omnibus for that on pre-order already) and Spidey and Daredevil, the latter two really need collecting by Marvel. Jr.'s style got way wacky from the 90's on and I don't like his recent blocky or elongated figures either.
