The Flash Rips His Shirt Off

Wally West beefcake! Not since Hal Jordan have I seen a hero rip his own shirt off in such a hot manner! Hal's "Brand of Power" was burning him alive, I wonder what Wally excuse was for wrecking his Flash costume on the cover of Flash Vol. 2 Annual # 3. Love the chest hair.

Love the pose, love the costume, but not the chest hair. I thought Wally was smooth.

Too bad his bulge is nineties-Superboy-size, too...
Yeah, based on most of his shirtless appearances, Wally is almost always smooth. Maybe the artist gave him chest hair on this cover to make him look more "grown up" since this is early on in his career as the Flash. Its as if he's saying that Wally's not Kid Flash anymore.

A scene like this should make it into a Flash movie! I actually like the chest hair on Wally too.
I'd like to see this in a Flash movie too! Unfortunately, my first choice to play Wally West is already playing Hal Jordan in the Green Lantern flick. Ryan Reynolds could have easily passed for a ginger. He could have pulled off Wally's goofiness too.

Yeah, I actually think it's a big missed opportunity to cast him as Hal instead of Wally. I wish the sexy Mr. Reynolds luck with the Green Lantern movie, but the reviews have not been kind! I'm thinking it would have been better if this had been a Flash movie and not GL, I think the public at large recognize the Flash more anyway.
Oh the reviews have been brutal for GL! It appears that this is one bad movie. Not just X-Men: The Last Stand-bad, but Batman & Robin-bad!

Well, I actually gave the Green Lantern movie a chance because my Dad wanted to see it for Father's Day (He grew up reading the Gil Kane drawn stories in the '60's), and what do ya know, it was NOT bad at all! I don't know what critics got all upset about, but nothing seemed embarrassingly bad to me, my Dad, or anyone else in the theater. It was pretty much on par quality wise with Thor or the first X-Men movie albeit with slightly less acting prowess than those two. And it represented the comics well too, far better than the X-Movies for sure. It was a good introductory story, although it was slightly over edited so supporting characters' arcs were a little truncated. Special effects were well above average too. Oh and 2 good shirtless scenes too, especially Hal's physical exam, where there was a great lengthy view of his whole body, bulge included! And I don't know for sure if it was the CGI costume or not, but Ryan's ass was looking mighty spectacular in a bunch of scenes with good rear view camera angles, LOL! Check it out, it's much better than you'd think with nice eye candy ta boot! :)
Thanks for the review, DAN. Especially the shirtless scene report. ;) Glad that you enjoyed the movie and its was nice that you went with your dad! I wish my dad read comic books (he thinks they're silly). I really wasn't planning on watching it since the reviews have been so full of venom but I've heard from some people who've enjoyed the movie (and some who didn't) so I still haven't decided if I see this in the theater or just wait for the DVD. I just hate that feeling of leaving a theater disappointed.

BTW, I've seen X-Men First Class and I loved it!

Yeah, First Class is shockingly great! Apparently Ryan's ass is for real and not CGI enhanced, as a friend just sent me caps from The Proposal and it all matches up! BTW, other than the physical exam, the other shirtless GL scene was Hal getting out of bed after an apparent one night stand, which was funny, in fact there was a nice bit of intentional humor throughout. The GL movie is full of fan service of many kinds. Plus Blake Lively was a good Carol Ferris and even got to do something important to help save the day towards the end! I love when love interests are allowed to be at least a little more than pretty faces! :)
