Ryan Reynolds: Green Lantern

Julian recently wrote to me and asked why haven't we featured any screen captures or pictures from live action film adaptations of comic book superheroes on this blog, and I had to ask myself, why indeed? They usually meet the qualifications that merit being featured in this blog: 1) They're shirtless 2) They're superheroes.

So for our first official Big Hollywood Movie post, here are some screencaps from the Green Lantern Trailer featuring Ryan Reynolds in nothing but (weird, unbranded) briefs! Shameless eye candy! And the fandom rejoiced...




Also, someone from Detail Magazine sent me a link to this article featuring Mr. Reynolds. The June/July issue of Details Magazine has an interview with Ryan as their cover story. Go visit their site or buy their mag. Let's support print, keep buying mags & comics!

Thanks for posting this, he does have an amazing body but am I the only one getting a "gay signal" from him. I've seen him in interviews and in photos and there's definitely something there. The same "ticks" I pick up on with gay guys in real life, I get from him. Certain facial expressions ("gayface"), body language, the give away sss. I know it's not considered terribly PC and I realize how asinine it is to discuss an actor's sexuality but I'd stake my life on it that Ryan Reynolds is either gay or bisexual.

Ryan looked sooo good in the Green Lantern movie! Can't wait for the DVD so there will be better caps hitting the web! (And the GL movie was enjoyable and not awful at all.) Ryan is just very sexy, I hope he's at least bisexual. :)

@bruno, I usually don't comment on an actor's personal life too, but I've always thought Ryan and ex-wife Scarlett Johansson was each other's beards. You never see them together and when they are, they don't look particularly lovey-dovey. That being said I really don't care if Ryan is bi, gay or straight in real life. I just want him to play a gay role in a movie. The love scenes would be so hot!

@Anonymous, Wildstorm characters will be integrated into the DC Universe this coming September, and unfortunately they're won't be a Midnnighter or The Authority ongoing comic. But both Apollo and the Mignighter will be appearing in Stormwatch.


@DAN, I'll definitely be capping Ryan when the Green Lantern flick comes to DVD!

@SallyP, I haven't seen the movie, mainly becuase of all the bad reviews, but it a true GL fan like yourself enjoyed it, I should probably give it a shot.

It's still not released in Mexico. They moved it so it would not compete with Thor or X-Men. I really want to see it.

@Cesar, maybe they should have done that in the States too. It seems that all 3 movies didn't make as much money domestically as previous comic book films. Could it be over saturation?

People who would watch each film multiple times now could only watch them once, I believe.
