Neonomicon Orgy

From the mind of Alan Moore comes a disturbing Lovecraftian tale called Neonomicon. In the second issue, there is plenty of full frontal male (and female) nudity as a couple of detectives go undercover in what turned out to be an orgy to summon a demon. Yeah, this book is pretty twisted. Special thanks to Arion for these scans.

Alan Moore is so sex obsessed these days! He needs therapy... ;) Afraid to say it but Moore's most creative days are way behind him. He was on such a roll in the 80's, but ever since the 90's hit he's been slummin' more and more.

I disagree, in Neonomicon he's merely following HP Lovecraft's guidelines. Besides, in the past years he has also done amazing work that has nothing to do with sex such as Top Ten. Anyway, sex has been a part of Moore's work even before Watchmen.

First Lost Girls and now this!?! It's basically porn, sorry, disagree all you want, but you won't convince me otherwise. Sure Moore's included sex elements in his previous work but not like this where it's so over the top and distracting. Plus, this Necronomicon is an adaptation, meaning it's not original or creative, i.e. he's out of ideas and sex obsessed. Sorry, but I just feel really strongly about Moore's career having gone down hill.

Oh, and his TopTen stuff was just boring, I really can't stand how so many people are unwilling call out Moore on his current slacker ways, he was such a visionary with his various 80's work and even had a resurgence a bit with the first two League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen series, but even that went off the rails with Black Dossier. Don't mean to be combative but Moore has really pissed me off with more recent lazy porono work like Lost Girls and Necronomicon. :(

Seems to me like the only one truly obsessed about porn is you.

You haven't even read Neonomicon and yet you think it's all about porn.

No, I'm not a formally brilliant imaginative writer like Moore who now has lowered himself to adapting others' stories and including over the top sex scenes for cheap shock value only. I wasn't criticizing you personally, Arion, but now you have to call me porn obsessed when it's really about me being angry and let down as a long time Moore fan and reader who knows he's capable of much more than this and is slacking off doing series like this and Lost Girls (which apparently YOU haven't read, Arion). If you really compare this with any of Moore's work from the 80's like Miracleman\Marvelman, Captain Britain, Swamp Thing, V For Vendetta, Watchmen, Halo Jones (none of which you seem to have read either), you'd know Moore's current work like this is a huge step down.

Oh, you must have thought I hadn't tried reading it just 'cause I miss-typed it as Necronomicon instead of Neonomicon? Whatever, just because someone doesn't type the exact correct name of something doesn't mean they haven't tried to read it and hated it.

I have read Lost Girls. And I've written a review about on my blog, feel free to read it.

And if you find any spelling mistakes in it please let me know.

And I have read everything you listed except Captain Britain. I happen to have a huge collection of old 2000AD progs and I always have a lot of fun reading the amazing stories Moore used to write in only a few pages.

Oh, so I guess my opinions of Moore's recent work are invalid because you think you're soooo much more well-read and spelling and grammar savvy. Since you don't really fully read or constructively respond to differing opinions and start typing out lame grade school style insults like "you're the one who's porn obsessed," I no interest in reading your blog. Feel free to ignore and\or not respond to my posts here.
C'mon guys, please don't fight. Everybody's tastes are different. Just agree to disagree and enjoy the eye candy.
