Love DD! Glad that the upcoming relaunch with Mark Waid as writer will supposedly be a little lighter in tone, our sexy lawyer man needs a break, he's suffered enough these past 13 or so years, although he looked great the whole time!
I've been reading good reviews of DD lately but I must confess, I don't read his book regularly. Perhaps I should.
DD is a downer type of book alot, especially the lengthy Bendis and Brubaker eras, but it's riveting stuff with great "noir"-ish art. The recent Shadowland event was a bit much for me, but I'm stickin' with DD as I've read him constantly since I was a kid and his story lines have been consistently good to great over the years.
I'm gonna pick up a couple of tpb's then, thanks.
The old Frank Miller stuff from the early and late 80's is particularly excellent too and set the tone that most writers on the book follow to this day. Most of DD's best stories are in TPB and HC. If you like crazy female villains I do, look for the DD Typhoid Mary TPB, that's some wild gender role reversal stuff there.
Great nipple detail in this sequence. Kudos to the artist!
