Angel & Iceman in Short Shorts

One of the perks of setting up your temporary headquarters on a Billionaire playboy's rest house is that there is a swimming pool. And when there's a swimming pool, there are swimming suits! New Defenders #130 features Archangel (then just Angel) & Iceman in tiny swim trunks. We also get some cheesecake from Candy Southern, Cloud & of course Moondragon, who's always walking around in that stripperific costume of hers.

I really couldn't read this late in the series as the death of Nighthawk (who I found the sexiest and most interesting on the team) happened around issue 100, and despite numerous efforts, I couldn't read beyond his death. I just wish some other character had bit the dust instead, although the presence of the wonderfully morally and sexually ambiguous Moondragon makes me want to try to read the later Defenders issues.

I'm not familiar with Nighthawk at all. Sounds like he was a great character if his death bothered you enough to stop reading. I must google him!

BTW, i think this incarnation of the team is a bit of a reboot/retool for the series since they have changed the roster. Oh, and speaking of sexually ambiguity, one of their new recruits Cloud, is able to change gender and was a love interest for both Iceman & Moondragon!

Freaking awesome, I really should try out the "New" Defenders era then, BTW Nighthawk was like Marvel's take on Batman except Nighthawk was alot happier and well adjusted and had a more flamboyant costume to boot, and then they killed him in two different realities no less (regular Marvel & the Squadron Supreme parallel earth) after making me love him, those damn sickos at Marvel! ;)
