Doom captured the FF in #236 and transferred their consciousnesses into mini bodies in a mini town in a glass dome to get them out of his way forever. They of course eventually escaped and got their real full size bodies back which Doom had in his lab next to the mini town. And they trapped Doom in his own mini town with a mini lynch mob chasing after him no less, fun issue!

Oh, that Victor Von Doom! Instead of just trying to kill his enemies, he comes up with a wacky scheme that backfires spectacularly. When will he ever learn? lol

What would villains be without overly elaborate schemes that spectacularly backfire, it's like an essential part of the comic book form. ;)

Yes, lots of showering in the 70's & 80's, but not much anymore, I guess the hero guys don't work up a sweat anymore. Kind of icky that they're not showering anymore. ;)

@DAN - As you might imagine I'm a major fan of the overelaborate death trap, it shows the villain has some creative flair and a sense of style.

As Lex Luthor once put in "Lois and Clark" - I do hate having to have someone killed. It's like... announcing to the world that you can't solve a problem creatively! :)

@icon - Yeah, but I think it's more that rather than taking a chance and create new villains after killing off the old ones permanently, the comic companies just want to keep using the well known older ones if for no other reason than marketing, so the same old heroes and villains fight each other eternally. Whatever works I guess. :)

Speaking of overly elaborate death traps combined with shirtlessness, does anyone else here love The Wild Wild West with Robert Conrad, that show really delivers on both counts and I still watch repeats of it. It's the most awesome show to come of the 60's next to Mission Impossible. XD

That issue was also cute because Phillip worked with Victor but with a different motivation. He wanted to make Alicia happy.

And Victor enjoyed having a less-genius Reed to torment.
