Ex-Robins After Showers

Two former Robins, fresh off the showers! First we have the retroactively red-headed Jason Todd llooking mighty fine as he's leaving the prison showers in nothing but a towel in Batman & Robin #23. Special thanks to Meicdon13 for sharing this awesome scan with us.



An now the hunk wonder himself from Batgirl #11, in which a Barbara Gordon wakes up to the sight of a shirtless Dick Grayson. Well, actually, this isn't Dick at all, this is all happening in Barbara Gordon's head. If I was trapped in a make believe too, it would totally have a shirtless Dick in it.

I thought it was impossible for me to love Jason Todd even more. I was, apparently, mistaken. Oh, Jason *dreamy sigh*

Jason looks great as a redhead, what precipitated this hair change anyway? (Other than further differentiating him from the previous and current brunette Robins)

Babs & Dick were such a cute couple, they need to get back together, oh wait, I'm conflicted now 'cause I'm a Starfire & Dick shipper too! Maybe they should just be a cute threesome together, but I'm sure DC would never go for something so Bohemian or unconventional relationship-wise, LOL!

@meicdon13, it took me a while, but the red hair has grown on me. The only reason I didn't accept the red hair right away was because its causes a continuity snarl, we've seen Jason before he was Robin, and his hair was black! But I'm loving the long red hair now. (Have you tried using OpenID).

@DAN, well, the official reason Jason is a redhead now is that Jason has always been a redhead. Mean old Bruce made him dye his hair black to make him look more like Dick. That's just creepy. But I think the real reason is, as you said, differentiate him from the other former Robins. Most people just think of him as an evil version of Dick Grayson.

I'd also like to see Dick in a threeway, but with Donna & Roy! XD

I always wanted Donna to be with Kyle Rayner. Damn it, I'm straight relationship shipping! Okay here's something better: Dick with Roy & Kyle! There I did an actual gay one for a change, 'bout time! :)

@pandesal: IIRC, in his very very first appearance, Jason was a redhead. They just colored his hair so that people wouldn't realize that there was a new Robin. Then Crisis happened and he was retconned to have had black hair.

And no, I haven't tried OpenID yet. It's just frustrating because I was able to comment on a previous entry before with my Google account and without needing to create a Blogger :\ oh well.

Well, I've gotta say that I find Barbara's reaction here completely unbelievable. How can she possibly think that?! Surely there's absolutely *nothing* not right with waking up to the sight of a shirtless Dick Grayson!

Slavek, cut Babs some slack, the poor girl's just in shock to see a shirtless Dick in her room since they've broken up ages ago. I'm sure she appreciated the unexpected Dick Grayson fan service like the rest of us. XD

Don't mention shock. Frankly, if we were being realistic, Dick would be impotent from his body trying its damnedest not to relive the pain of being raped twice. (Only Jason might have more rapes in his past among men of the Bat family.) The first time, all his "friends" thought it was hilarious, even ones like Kory and Donna who should fucking know better and hate Mirage for their own reasons. The second? He never told anybody, though I suspect Tim has an inkling; this was War Games, so he was the only competent Bat at the time.

Well, post-Crisis Teen Titans, Wolfman was all but saying Dick's bi. (With the qualifier that he needs an emotional bond.)

I more think of them as great the first time around. Dick and Kory never got past that time she blamed him for being raped. And Dick and Babs after Infinite Crisis depended too much on half-assed retcons, at least one of which kinda turns Bans into a child molester.

Actually Jason came up with the idea of dyeing his hair. Now, pre-rez Jason was shorter than Dick, and Jason at the start of his Robin career was smol.
