I can't believe I haven't posted this before, its a classic. In X-Men #4 Gambit, Wolverine, Rogue and Jubillee shoot some hoops. And both Wolvie & Gumbo are shirtless!
WOW, a true modern classic! Jim Lee drew an incredible looking Gambit & Wolverine, I remember almost drooling over this issue when I first got it years ago. :)
I really can't understand why all those "french" characters in super heroes comics have long hair. They're not very handsome also...I dig Wolverine, but Gambit with his ponytail? Yerk :p
Its just a matter of taste, Xavier. I think those long haired frenchmen are really for the fangirls. They find French dudes romantic. That being said, I totally think Gambit is hot!

Yeah, I've no problem with longish hair or a ponytail for Gambit either, it's usually tucked away anyway inside that strange but now standard partial head covering thingy on his costume.

Ah yes, the sweet late '80s/early 90s, before any media related to shirtless men was automatically deemed as "ew, gay!", a time when young heterosexual males looked at images of semi-nude action heroes such as Sylvester Stallone and Jean-Claude van Damme with admiration instead of today's feigned disgust.

I think the long hair has more to do with the era than the frenchness. Gambit, Bishop, Shatterstar and Rictor among others had long hair back then but not anymore. for the record I'm French and hate long hair on males (well, I had sort of a mullet in the late 80's but...)
@BEN, I don't think straight guys have gotten more homophobic nowadays, but I do agree that it seems that casual shirtlessness was more common in action movies back in the 80's & 90's. We had Rambo, The Terminator and all those Jean-Claude van Damme shirtless characters. Not to mention the legendary Bruce Lee's fequently bare chest back in the 70's. C'mon, Hollywood, bring back the bare-chested action hero! And no, shirtless vampire twinks don't count! XD
@Lutecius, your right! It probably has more to do with the era the character debuted. Lots of male characters back in the 90's had long hair. BTW, I don't judge you for having a mullet back then, it wasn't your fault that it was in fashion. But I do hope that you still aren't rocking the mullet look now. XD
@DAN, as a Cyclops fan I'm a little dissapointed, this is the first poll he lost. But I also can't ignore the appeal of the ragin' Cajun!

I was actually planning on sending scans of this same scene to you at some point. But looks like you got to 'em first! =D
Back in the day, I used to skim over titles that I didn't read regularly read and if there was a shirtless scene, I'd buy it!
